Home Turf
Early beta

How would you
like to live here?

Home Turf scores any UK neighbourhood on what matters to you — crime, schools, green & nature, transport, going out, air quality, the coast and everyday essentials. Recolour the map by your priorities, not someone else's index.

Explainable, not magic

Every fit score breaks down into what helped and what dragged it down. Strengths and the not-so-great, never hidden.

🧭

Compare anywhere ↔ anywhere

Rank neighbourhoods across regions on one ruler, or focus within a single region. "Areas like this" finds lookalikes.

Every score shows its working

Open any neighbourhood and the fit breaks down into exactly what lifted it and what dragged it down — with the raw figures and every source named.

  • Strengths — the indicators pulling the score up, and by how much.
  • What's not great here — the honest downsides, never hidden.
  • The raw numbers — e.g. "≈41 recorded property crimes per 1,000 homes / yr".
  • Areas like this — character-matched neighbourhoods across regions.

📍
Very early days. This is an early beta — expect rough edges and the odd wrong number, so please don't make a move on it alone. It currently covers London, Portsmouth & South Hampshire, and Dorset & the New Forest — about 2,819 neighbourhoods (LSOAs); everywhere else it honestly says "not scored yet" rather than guessing. More regions are on the way.

Score listings right on Rightmove

Install the browser add-on and your Home Turf fit score appears on Rightmove listing pages and search results — the same honest score, where you actually decide. Your profile stays in sync with the app, both ways.

A live example of the add-on's card — it appears on every listing and search result, in your colours.

🛡️

Before you install — a word on trust. Browser extensions can read and change the pages you visit, so the rule of thumb is to only load ones from a source you trust. This is an unpacked beta from a solo developer — not a vetted Chrome Web Store listing — so install it because you chose to, not because a page told you to. It's all plain, readable JavaScript: unzip it and look before you load it. Home Turf has no account and no analytics — it only fetches neighbourhood data from GitHub Pages and reads the Rightmove page you're on.

  1. Download the add-on below and unzip it to a folder you'll keep.
  2. Open chrome://extensions (or edge://extensions).
  3. Turn on Developer mode (top-right toggle).
  4. Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped folder.
  5. Pin “Home Turf for Rightmove” and click it to set your profile.
  6. Open a Rightmove listing in a covered area — your fit score appears on the photo.

It's an unpacked developer build (not yet in the Chrome Web Store), so it installs via Developer mode using the steps on the left. Works in Chromium browsers — Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc.

Heads-up: the score uses the listing's map pin, so it reflects the neighbourhood, not the exact doorstep. Unofficial — not affiliated with Rightmove.
